Monitoring engine status not running

The monitoring engine has stopped running on our instance and cannot be restarted via the GUI.

We are running 5.4.11 on RHEL 7.4

Can I restart from the command line?

I've resolved this now.

There was a host config file with errors in the check settings (invalid time period)

This host has now been deleted in Nagios XI GUI.

All Nagios engine services are now green.
