Alert reduction in Nagios XI compared to Core

Post by jyoti22 »

Hi,
For our customer we wanted to propose Nagios XI. currently they are using Nagios Core.
Any idea how alert correlated and suppression work in both variants?
Can we tell in % how alerts can be reduced in Nagios than in core? Thanks

Nagios XI uses Nagios Core as a base, and as such operates the same way, when configured the same it would issue the exact same quantity of alerts, however it is configurable per user to allow individual users to choose what notifications to receive, for example some users may not need to see WARNINGs, they can disable them. Or another user only wants to be notified during the hours of their shift, they can set the days and hours, and only notify then.
