Hello Support,

I am trying to migrate my nagiosxi installation to a new server and while trying to restore the DB to the new server I get the following error

....
ERROR 2006 (HY000) at line 186: MySQL server has gone away
Error restoring MySQL database 'nagiosxi' !.....

Below are the steps I am using for the migration:

...I spun up a new server and:
cd into the /tmp/ directory
then
wget {XI 5.2.3 tar}(you can find the download link in the list below):
https://www.nagios.com/downloads/nagios ... -releases/
tar xzf name_of_the_downloaded_tar
cd into it
./fullinstall
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... -Linux.pdf
Then you'd backup the old XI system, use filezilla or winscp to transfer the backup tar.gz over to the new server and restore from that backup.

how large is the database file you're attempting to restore?

from what i can tell, this may be related to an import exceeding size, or a connection timeout. some of the suggestions here may help you - https://stackoverflow.com/questions/104 ... -gone-away
