Can I ask if this KB article is still the recommended best practice for setting check intervals of hosts to a more frequent value than services:
https://support.nagios.com/kb/article/n ... e-504.html
If I use any of the wizards (NRPE, Windows Server etc) they only give an option to set the same check intervals, retry intervals and max attempts values for both hosts and services.

Re: Host & Service Check Intervals
It is recommended for hosts to be the either equal or more frequent.
Re: Host & Service Check Intervals
The KB article says:
If it's better for the host intervals to be more frequent than services then can that be incorporated into the wizards to supply separate intervals for hosts and services? I've looked at the code of the wizard but step 3 where these options are set doesn't seem to allow any customisations.
Is this still the case or has something changed where a service check performs a one off host check before it sends an alert?A common mistake when setting up your monitoring intervals is to leave the host intervals the same as the service intervals.
