Nagios 5.4.13 upgrade failed.

Post by manitowoc »

Upgrade failed and after I've restored the autobackup, update screen now stuck with "Update in progress. Please wait. Update may take a few minutes.".

Open the upgrade script in a text editor and modify it as it is described in the post below:

https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewto ... 08#p255370

Next, run the upgrade script from the command line:

Code: Select all

cd /tmp/nagiosxi
./upgrade
Let us know if the upgrade finished successfully.

It looks like the yum cache needs to be cleaned out of old data. Run this as root to do that.

Code: Select all

yum clean all
Then try the XI upgrade again.

once cleared yum cache there is another new error.

"yum error “Cannot retrieve metalink for repository: epel. Please verify its path and try again” updating ContextBroker"

however able to fix it by updating the yum repo URL.

sudo sed -i "s/mirrorlist=https/mirrorlist=http/" /etc/yum.repos.d/epel.repo

Finally i'm able to get it updated to version 5.5.1

Thank everyone for helping out, this isn't a smooth ride after all. Nagiosxi team need to review the whole version upgrade processes again.

Yum cache and epel issues are more on the side of whoever is admining the server. It seems to me that it is not a problem with the Nagios portion of the upgrade per se.

Thanks @gwakem! I totally agree. Yum and epel issues are not nagios problems per se. :)
