Switching from SNMP to NCPA

Post by tsawyer »

I'm fairly new to Nagios. I've got the core setup in our company and monitoring is ok, but I've got 1500 services across 143 hosts to monitor. I'd like to take the load off the server and start using the NCPA agent. Is it possible to switch the hosts off SNMP over to the NCPA agent, while keeping my historical data? If I have to, I don't mind recreating all the hosts using the agent, but I'd prefer to keep the history.

Unfortunately all the services are going to be named something different and going to report on different amount of datasources so the graphs will not work, it really is not possible to move from one type to another and keep all the data
