Unable to connect to system log file

Dear Team,
I am a new user of Nagios XI.
I need a plugin and how I can set it up to connect to a log file on a system.
Kindly help with quick resolution.

This really depends on what you want to do with the logfile, search contents, or check update time, etc.

My first incline is to recommend Nagios Log Server as this is exactly designed to do this

What defines a critical error may need to be defined.
Depending on the system you can also use something like this plugin

I just setup the nagios log server. However, I am unable to login through the web interface with my credential, although i can login with default credential (username: root password: nagiosls) through putty.
How can I resolve the issue.
