How to preserve changes to the host, service passive check template freshness settings between NagiosXI upgrades?

Nagios shouldn't be changing these, is there a specific template you saw changed?
One way to for sure do this would be to Apply Configuration just before the upgrade, then you can roll back the configuration to the one you made just before the upgrade.
