Nagios contacts notification

Post by inas.labib »

HI Team,

We are able to view that nagios has triggered a notification to a specific contact from Notifications list.

But when checked with a specific service there is no contact or a contact group mapped to that service.

In this case how there is an entry for nagios Critcal/Warning notification for that service from nagios Notifications list entry.

It is hard to say without looking at your configuration files. It is possible that the contact is inherited via a template that this service is using. Also, it could be added via an implied inheritance. Maybe, you used to have a contact/contactgroup that was removed, but the notification was sent as you have multiple nagios instances running, and one of them "thinks" that the contact is added to the service.

When you review the service definition in the /usr/local/nagios/var/objects.cache file, do you see a contact added to the service?
