Post by mkeey »

After consulting with the developers about the cause of this, we did come up with a cause and that is the file format changes slightly in the newer versions and need to be re-written to be parsed correctly.

Lets to the following. Remove the erroneous configs for the host/services, in the CCM.

Then

CCM -> Tools -> Config File Management
Delete Files
Write Configs
Verify Files
Restart Nagios Core

This will reset the configs

Now, the Bulk Host Import Wizard should work correctly.

Hello Scott - I appreciate that I can delete the bad services/hosts via the CCM. Did that yesterday and then the Apply Config works just fine. However, I still have to add these new hosts & services. If I run the Bulk Clone Wizard again, I'll just be right back where I started from.

I will delete the bad CFG files, but how do we fix the problem of the Wizard generating corrupt/incompatible CFG files?

Actually when you ran this it would have fixed the issue
CCM -> Tools -> Config File Management
Delete Files
Write Configs
there was a bug that required all the configs to be re-written for the Bulk Host cloning issue to be resolved.

Now if you re-run the wizard it should create the hosts correctly.

This makes sense now. Should have cleaned up the old versions CFG files before we ran the Wizard. May want to update the upgrade program to include a delete of the CFG files so other customers don't run into this issue.

Agreed.

Were you able to run the Bulk Host Cloning Wizard successfully?
