Please also post the NSClient++ version, OS version, nsclient.log and the command you are using to connect to the host running this NSClient++.

My guess is that you have set:

[/settings/NRPE/server]
insecure = true

in nsclient.ini while trying to connect without certs (nrpe v2?)
