To start here is the Nagios configuration we have:
1. Linux Distribution and version? CentOS 6.10
2. 32 or 64bit? 64bit
3. VMware Image or Manual Install of XI? The server is running on a VM but as far as we know it was a manual installation.
4. Are there special configurations on your system, ie; is Gnome installed? No. Are you using a proxy? Are you using SSL?
As far as we see there is no special configuration. No proxy, we could not find ssl-certificate on OS side.
5. Nagios Version? Nagios XI 2011R3.1
Could you please provide an escalation path to upgrade for my current Nagios version?

Re: Nagios upgrade
Hello, @JohnF. First, you should backup the XI. If it's running on a VM you may create a snapshot instead.
Your version of XI is pretty old and there may or may not be some problems during the upgrade. If you do encounter any please copy and paste the upgrade log from the command line to this forum thread.
I suggest upgrading from XI 2011 to xi-2014 first. And then from XI-2014 to the latest version.

Some other users prefer to do a clean install of the latest XI on a clean VM/server and then manually importing configs from the old XI server:
