Proper HA Setup with Nagios

Hello,

I was reading some of the documentations but was a little confused. Right now we have a single Nagios XI server in a VM that is monitoring our environment. I am wanting to see what a proper way to setup Nagios in a HA Cluster.

Should we spin up a new VM, install the Nagios XI software on there and have separate disks between them, or should we create a new VM and share the disks between the two VMs with clustering software with RHEL?

I think the majority of people set up separate disks and rely on replicating the data between machines instead of using a shared disk.
