Battle Card / Comparative Analysis against BMC

Post by riredondo »

hello Nagios Support Team,

Since you are not reachable through email, i had this posted this request instead.

We would like to ask for your help on one of our clients requirements. They are requesting if we may provide them a comparative analysis / battle card of XI capabilities and features against BMC's. Will highly appreciate your usual support. If it is not too much to ask, they are expecting our response tomorrow Manila time.

Thank you very much.

I checked with the sales team, and we don't have a comparative chart at the moment against BMC, although I can tell you off hand that the biggest different by far will be the price tag ; ) BMC won't be cheap. Here's the overview and feature highlight for Nagios XI.

In short, Nagios XI is an extremely flexible monitoring tool, and it can monitor just about anything. Some of our larger competitors do a combination of network management+monitoring, while Nagios remains purely as a monitoring solution, and does it extremely well for a fraction of the price. I believe our sales team is receiving emails again, you can try emailing them at [email protected] for license and pricing information.

Rose,

While we don't really get into "comparisons" or "battle cards" we like to let our features and benefits speak for themselves.

That said, a quick search of Google will show countless entries of people who use BMC and want to get Nagios data sent to BMC. My only guess on this is that either BMC can't monitor these things or Nagios does it more efficiently.

Hello Mike and Scott, thanks for this. :)
I wonder, is there any possibility that we may work this out? Like your team may prepare for this?

To be totally honest, I don't believe we have anyone on staff that has used any of BMC's applications to make the comparison.

A quick review of there website shows dozens of different applications.. I wouldn't know where to begin even if I have a version of each to compare with...
