Deleted rrd returns?
Deleted rrd returns?
I'm trying to delete an rrd and associated xml file so it gets recreated on next check. I delete the files and they are being recreated with all the old data! I know I've deleted an rrd file to start it over in the past, but its just coming right back!

Re: Deleted rrd returns?
Is this a standalone machine or do you have any scripts in place to replicate configs and files between this machine and another? The only thing that comes to mind that would explain why the old data is getting inserted back in would be a if a old copy is getting moved over.

Re: Deleted rrd returns?
Nothing for replication, this server is just a NagiosXI box. Just so confusing how it is coming back every time.

Re: Deleted rrd returns?
Very strange. Exactly what steps are you taking? You're deleting the files found at /usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata/<hostname>/<servicedesc>.[rrd|xml] correct? Is the recreated rrd file the same size as the deleted one? Are you checking the data inside it with rrdtool? For example:
Code: Select all
rrdtool dump /usr/local/nagios/share/perfdata/hostnameA/ServiceA.rrdAs of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.
