What happens to license activation after backup/restore?
What happens to license activation after backup/restore?
If we do a backup of XI box X (production) and then restore to XI box Y (failover) I know that the license information gets copied over. Does this have any affect on the already activated license on the Nagios licensing backend? I'm trying to make sure that our primary->failover sync process is as "set and forget" as possible and don't want our customer to log in to the failover box during an actual failover and find that their activation has somehow failed.

This should work just fine, the activation carries over. Our system does see them as separate, but for activation and all intensive purposes this should work just fine.
The only caveat to this is a MSP licensed system, in which case you can only have one machine with the same activation code without running into problems.

Yah, not MSP. Just run-of-the-mill unlimted node license.
Thanks, Scott.
Thanks, Scott.
