Servers with multiple IPs using dependency

Hi. I have a use case similar to the one in an earlier post "Server with Multiple IP's", https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewto ... ip+address.

If we create servername, servername:01, servername02, ... servername:n could we make servername dependent on all of the other "instances" each with their own monitoring? If we only enable notifications for the dependent servername, would that be a way of monitoring a server with multiple IPs?
