Hi;
I just want to ask assistance on the issue when a switch or router is being enrolled in NagiosXI it scans the ports in the device, but once the device has been reboot/restart Nagios won't re-scan the device and update the configuration that has indexing or port number. So when there is an activity in a switch or router, some ports will alarm and then checked it in the device those ports are UP and since the index # in the configuration is not updated, Nagios considered it as down.
Switch/Router Issue
Re: Switch/Router Issue
The indexing would need to remain persistent(check the switch/router documentation) or you would need to manually run the wizard again to get the new indexes.

@cdienger
Thank you. So basically, the normal behavior of router/switch after restart should not change the index number, right? I just want also to confirm if we try to rerun again the wizard it will not duplicate? or do we need to delete it first in CCM?

Re: Switch/Router Issue
Okay noted. Is there an option that we can set in the router/switch so that the index will not change after reboot?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Switch/Router Issue
Hi @Brezner,
That would depend on the router/switch. Check the manufacturer's documentation for setting a persistent interface index across reboots.
