i am facing some issues with templates on my nagios xi, so i have two set templates that i created by just adding a host using wizard and then selecting the services or whatever i want to monitor and following all the other steps and then saving as a template.
here is my problem, when i want to add a new host and click on finish with template, the template only has step 3-5 of the configuration wizard which is just assigning the notification contacts and host group and the rest, it does not inherit the services that were first selected in stage 1
how can i create a template where i can use if i want it to monitor specific services when i add a new host. where i wont have to select memory, cpu and any other service to monitor since its already in the template. i know about bulk cloning and i do not want to use that, please advice

Re: host and service templates for future use
Hello @rnjie,
The templates in the CCM are much different than the templates used in the configuration wizards. As you mentioned, wizard templates are only for steps 3-5 to save time when running the wizard again.
If you want to add the same service to another host, there are a few options. One is to define a new service template with all of the check settings defined and then apply this template to a new service and host.
Another option is to copy an existing service and modify this for the new host. Let me know if that answers your question correctly.
Also, here's our guide on configuring services in the CCM with step-by-step examples:
