Upgarde to 5.6.9 Issue

Post by mbowden »

This morning I upgraded to version 5.6.9. The upgrade failed at the very end saying it was having trouble setting some permissions, then fired off a bunch of email regarding a line in the sudoers file. The email stopped, I restarted the Nagios XI server and things appear "Ok" The version shows as 5.6.9 However when I click on "Check for Updates" the page indicated there is an update in progress with a spinning wheel.

Hello @mbowden,

We're working to improve the GUI upgrade process in 5.7, and I would recommend performing a manual upgrade until then by running the commands below.

Code: Select all

cd /tmp
rm -rf nagiosxi xi*.tar.gz
wget http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/xi-latest.tar.gz
tar xzf xi-latest.tar.gz
cd nagiosxi
./upgrade
To clear the upgrade status, follow the instructions in the article below.

It sounds like it's working OK otherwise, but if you have any questions let us know.
