Wildcards in Searches
Wildcards in Searches
Hello - I was wondering if there's a way to make the searches more flexible (e.g. permit wildcards). I'm especially interested for this when using the quick search on Service Status pages. If not, might this be a worthy feature request?

Re: Wildcards in Searches
Could you provide some detailed examples of exactly what you are after please?

Re: Wildcards in Searches
I've named services in a logical fashion: <site><subsite><system><process> where there are multiple sites, subsites, systems, and processes. For example:
site = state1, state2, state3
subsite = city1, city2, city3
system = foo, bar, woobie
process = poke, push, pull
When looking at service status or service problems, I'd like to be able to search for "state1 * bar pull" or "* foo poke", etc. I'm able to search for a single item (e.g. woobie) or properly formatted string (e.g. state3 city2) and it'll show me all of the woobies or all sites and processes with "state3 city2" in their description. I'm hoping there's a way to make the searching more flexible.

Re: Wildcards in Searches
It has been requested before but it isn't currently something we're looking at - the jquery implemented doesn't allow it without some major changes that will not be made in the foreseeable future.

Hello @cstuart,
Right now it supports the partial match but not wildcards. While this has been submitted as a feature request, it was not implemented due to limitations in the front-end javascript libraries.
