Nagios XI v5.3.2 Bulk Modification

Post by krw »

I have an a user I need to delete and there are over 200 relationships to hosts and services
with this user.

I go into the Bulk Modification tool select Remove Contact, select the contact and click find relationships
but nothing comes up. If I click the i button on the Contact from the contact screen I can see all the
relationships there but none in the Bulk Modification -> Remove Contact.

I need to remove this person as they are no longer with the company and their email address is being
forwarded to another C-level person who does not want to see any of the alerts, nor do I want him to.

I don't want to have to remove this person by hand from over 200 things. Any other simple way of doing
this?

Thanks,
Keith

Until we get this sorted out you can disable the contacts notifications
CCM -> contact -> edit contact
Alert Setting Tab
Click Off for Host Notifications Enabled & Service Notifications Enabled
Save
Apply Configuration

That said, 5.3.2 is 3 1/2 years old and there have been massive improvements since then, most notable in this case is the following in 5.3.3 which I believe would fix this error.

Code: Select all

Fixed Bulk Modifications tool "find relationships" button JS errors -JO

Hi Scott.

yes thats what I ended up doing just turning off alerts.

This install is old and I have been migrating off it for the last
month or so to a fresh install of XI on a new VM.

I inherited this one and it felt broken from the start. When I
flashed up a new VM with a new instance of XI I realized now
there are a ton of things broken or not working right in the old
install compared to the new one.

The old XI install will be shutdown in a few weeks and turfed so
not really concerned about it but this was a tool I had not used
before and it didn't work!

Thanks. You can lock this.
