Hi,
We have multiple hosts which have to be monitored by similar services.
Eg: Linux services to be monitored for CPU usage,disk usage etc..
So we want to create a service group with all the services and a host group with all linux hosts and map it to them.
Basically below mappings,
host -> service
Host group -> service
Hist group -> service group
Thanks.
Map Host (groups) to Service (Groups)
Re: Map Host (groups) to Service (Groups)
It's not currently possible to do it that way, you'll need to attach the services to the hostgroup individually for the services to be inherited by other hosts in that hostgroup. Just edit the service, remove the host from Manage Hosts, select the hostgroup from Manage Hostgroups button. You can attach services to hostgroups or hosts or a mix of both, it allows that flexibility.
Service groups are really just for grouping services. The servicegroups option on the templates or in the services themselves are ONLY for putting that service into the servicegroup. You can still create a servicegroup and put those services in there but there isn't a inherit all services from servicegroup option as the hostgroups are used for that.
