One of the configured repositories failed (Unknown),
and yum doesn't have enough cached data to continue. At this point the only
safe thing yum can do is fail. There are a few ways to work "fix" this:

     1. Contact the upstream for the repository and get them to fix the problem.

     2. Reconfigure the baseurl/etc. for the repository, to point to a working
upstream. This is most often useful if you are using a newer
distribution release than is supported by the repository (and the
packages for the previous distribution release still work).

     3. Run the command with the repository temporarily disabled
            yum --disablerepo=<repoid> ...

     4. Disable the repository permanently, so yum won't use it by default. Yum
will then just ignore the repository until you permanently enable it
again or use --enablerepo for temporary usage:

            yum-config-manager --disable <repoid>
        or
            subscription-manager repos --disable=<repoid>

     5. Configure the failing repository to be skipped, if it is unavailable.
Note that yum will try to contact the repo. when it runs most commands,
so will have to try and fail each time (and thus. yum will be be much
slower). If it is a very temporary problem though, this is often a nice
        compromise:

            yum-config-manager --save --setopt=<repoid>.skip_if_unavailable=true

I believe you will need to download the RPM and all of it's dependencies, and then install it from source.

Please refer to the following documentation for more detailed instructions on how to do this.

I believe you can download the packages on an internet connected system using the downloadonly plugin or yumdownloader on a system that already has the packages installed.

Code: Select all

yum install yum-plugin-downloadonly
yum install --downloadonly --downloaddir=<directory> <package>
link

Then you can move it to the offline system (using scp or similar...), and then run something like the following set of commands.

Code: Select all

yum install --downloadonly --installroot=<directory> --releasever=<version> --downloaddir=<directory> <package>
As for how you would update the system after that is another matter... Options for that include re-downloading every update using an online machine, setting up a local repository, or setting up a local mirror.

I'm glad to hear that!

Were you able to get it installed offline?

Please let me know if you have any more questions. Otherwise, we can lock this thread for editing so that it can be archived for future reference.

Hi dear,

I solved this one by below steps.

first, I get the package of below command by yum download-only and take a copy to my Linux host.

Code: Select all

Sudo yum install -y gcc glibc glibc-common openssl openssl-devel perl wget
and same for

Code: Select all

sudo yum install -y perl-Net-SNMP
then I downloaded epel from below link and take a copy also to Linux host
then run the below commnad

Code: Select all

sudo rpm -qa | grep -i epel
sudo rpm -qi epel-release-7-12.noarch //change the name to same file name
sudo rpm -e epel-release-7-12.noarch //change the name to same file name

that is all requested for NRPE for my case.

Thanks and Best regards.
