Hi,
We are using 5 Nutanix clusters in our environment which has around 50 hosts.
We would like to monitor and catch the SNMP traps sent by the cluster.
Steps done:
Added nutanix mib file in NTXI admin->mib.
Added the trap definition in snmptt.conf file and verified the events are added.
Added the host in config wizard->snmp trap interface.
We are able to see the traps in snmplogs and also in the received Trap section.
We want the traps to be sent by email similar to other alerts with check_nrpe agents as we receive.
Kindly advise.
Thanks.

Re: Nutanix SNMP trap email notificatio
Did you edit the traps in Admin > SNMP Trap Interface > Defined Traps, and setup the Passive Service section? See page 9 of this guide:
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... h-NXTI.pdf
You would still need to add contacts/contactgroups to the SNMP Traps service, you can use one of your existing services as an example (Alert Setting tab).
See here as well:

If you have questions let us know.

Thanks for your help.
We are now getting the email alerts after enabling the passive check option and using snmptraphandling.py script.
But we have more than 150 OIDs in our MIB and so we have 150 defined traps.
How can we enable passive check for all the traps under this MIB in one go.
Otherwise its very hard to edit each defined traps and enable the passive check.
Let us know how we can do it.

You would currently need to do it one-by-one if you want to manage them through the SNMP Trap Interface.
I've submitted a feature request for this on your behalf as agree this would be useful to have:
Please keep in mind that the decision to implement the enhancement is at the discretion of our development team.
Thank you!

Re: Nutanix SNMP trap email notificatio
Hi,
We were able to setup SNMP trap and we received the traps on SNMP trap in Nagios admin page.
We wanted to receive it on email , we found the unconfigured objects and selected the contact to send email.
Now we are receiving email to the selected contacts.
But how can we reconfigure the contacts to whom email has to be sent, we want to add one more contact to receive mail for that particular trap.
Thanks.

Hi,
Once an object has been assigned ( from the unconfigured object), you can add new contacts in the CCM under the Alert Settings tab.

Hi,
we already have contacts added to the alerts.
But we want specific traps to be sent to specific contact.
Let us know how can we configure it and later reconfigure the contacts to receive a particular trap.
Thanks.

Hi,
OK, I got it, and I believe this can done by modifying the SNMP Trap definition, but I'm going to get clarification on this and will follow up with you shortly.
Thanks for your patience.

HI,
So following up on this question, the process is to define a specific trap definition to match the specific trap, then associate the trap with a unique service object, then you will be able to assign the appropriate contacts to the service.
Reference:
Using the SNMP trap interface in Nagios XI
Integrating SNMP Traps With Nagios XI
SNMP Traps With NXTI
