Service test not working correctly

The test button is escaping characters and this is causing issues with checks that have special characters in their arguments (windows performance counters for example).

Has anyone a solution to make it works as expected while not breaking up the actual service check?

Bye, Dario

I wasn't able to get this to work with the Run Check Command button, I created a bug report for this so development can take a look at it:

Code: Select all

NEW TASK ID 15167 created - Nagios XI Bug Report: XI - CCM - Run Check Command bug
I added a counter they can test against to replicate the issue and added link back to this thread.

As a workaround (until development fixes it) you can try to apply config and force the check to see if the check works in the backend.

Thank you

Yes, I realized that I can just apply the config and see what happens...

Still, the check on the fly ability is nice to have and it's something we customer paid for, so I'd like to see it fixed asap.

I have filed an internal bug report, #15167, for this issue. While I don't have an ETA as the schedule is determined by the priority and severity of the bug, the development team at Nagios has been notified of the issue. Thank you for helping us improve our software.
