Post by vijilants »

Nagios XI - System Info
System
Nagios XI version: 5.7.1
Release info: cedarnms1 3.10.0-957.5.1.el7.x86_64 x86_64
CentOS Linux release 7.6.1810 (Core)
Gnome is not installed

Hi,

Can you please advise on the folloing issue that we are experiencing.

We no longer wish to use Host Groups or service groups. So I went to the CCM and deleted the host groups and service groups. (Note we only want to get rid of the groups and not the individual hosts or services>

When trying to apply the configuration, an error occurs and in config snapshots this is what we are gertting..see below.

Can you please advise as to giow to fix this ans the host groups and service groups no longer show in CCM but appear on the Web gui.

Many Thanks

Check your configuration file(s) to ensure that they contain valid
directives and data definitions. If you are upgrading from a previous
version of Nagios, you should be aware that some variables/definitions
may have been removed or modified in this version. Make sure to read
the HTML documentation regarding the config files, as well as the
'Whats New' section to find out what has changed.

Can you go to
CCM -> Tools -> Config File Management
Click Delete Files
Click Write Configs
Click Verify files

If all goes well, Apply Configuration
If you get an error please post the new error
