I know there are few ways to use nagios commands in nagios core to disable notification during maintenance etc, is there a NagiosXI preferred way? I want to be able to disable notifications when certain operations run during the night and enable them when complete. Recurring downtime seems to be a good option but I generally don't know the exact time each operation may take. I would like to just post to a url if thats possible.
Thanks,
Disabling notifications remotely

You can do this through the web interface on the host/service detail page (Overview Tab) which basically submits the command to core for you.
Or, if you had a way with core that you were familiar, it should work the same way on your XI machine as the full core interface is available at http://<IP_ADDRESS>/nagios/
