Mariadb version update

Post by evisus »

CentOS Linux release 7.8.2003 (Core)
Server version: Apache/2.4.46
PHP 7.2.33
mysql Ver 15.1 Distrib 5.5.65-MariaDB
Nagios XI 5.7.3

Regards!
I need to update the nagios XI database engine.

I have "mysql Ver 15.1 Distrib 5.5.65-MariaDB" and I want to update it to Mysql v8 or Mariadb v10. Is there a special procedure to support me in the update process?

I have tried it on my own but ended up damaging the installation.

Hi @Evisus,

We build, test, and support what's provided by the Linux vendor such as RHEl or Ubuntu. If you would like to update beyond a version that's provided by the default repositories, you may run into issues with upgrades or other problems.

If this is related to a security scan, please take into account the most vendors will backport critical security patches to the packages they provide.

See: https://access.redhat.com/security/updates/backporting

Best Regards,
Benjamin
