Hi Team,

We are upgrading Nagios XI from 5.6.14 to 5.7.4 latest version but we are getting below error.

[root@eu1papu003 yum.repos.d]# cd /tmp
[root@eu1papu003 tmp]# cd nagiosxi/
[root@eu1papu003 nagiosxi]# ./upgrade

Evidently yum cannot find the "git" package. Perhaps the repo list changed, possibly by something adding or removing files in /etc/yum.repos.d/. No matter, we can re-enable some repos to try to fix it.

Try opening /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo in your text editor of choice and removing any lines that say enabled=0.

Then: Then try the installer again.

If that doesn't work, can you post the output of the following command?

It doesn't look like you have access to the proper repositories, what is the output of this command?
Here are the ones I have enabled, you're missing everything but epel:

Please find below details. We have not tried to run the upgrade again since all below commands failed.

Please check and suggest next steps to resolve the issue and get the Environment upgraded.

One of the configured repositories failed (Unknown),
and yum doesn't have enough cached data to continue. At this point the only
safe thing yum can do is fail. There are a few ways to work "fix" this:

1. Contact the upstream for the repository and get them to fix the problem.

2. Reconfigure the baseurl/etc. for the repository, to point to a working
upstream. This is most often useful if you are using a newer
distribution release than is supported by the repository (and the
packages for the previous distribution release still work).

3. Run the command with the repository temporarily disabled
yum --disablerepo=<repoid> ...

4. Disable the repository permanently, so yum won't use it by default. Yum
will then just ignore the repository until you permanently enable it
again or use --enablerepo for temporary usage:

yum-config-manager --disable <repoid>
or
subscription-manager repos --disable=<repoid>

5. Configure the failing repository to be skipped, if it is unavailable.
Note that yum will try to contact the repo. when it runs most commands,
so will have to try and fail each time (and thus. yum will be be much
slower). If it is a very temporary problem though, this is often a nice
compromise:

yum-config-manager --save --setopt=<repoid>.skip_if_unavailable=true

Are you sure you have a reliable network connection? The repo failing could mean your internet connection isn't working. Sometimes VM settings can outright break the internet connection.
If it turns out nothing is wrong with your network, please post the contents of /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo.
