Hello
i'm a newbie to nagios .
is it possible to raise an alarm within nagios if a host has been unreachable for over 10 minutes
my scenario
i'm ping checking hosts every minute.
if the host goes down (ping) it raises an alarm
if the remains down for 10 minutes then raise another alarm.
could anyone point me in the right direction
regards

Host down for extendend period
Re: Host down for extendend period
Hi richie7tech,
You can adjust the notification period when a potential problem is first detected to "10" minutes before sending the notification email.
From the "Service Status" page > Click on your "Ping" service > Configure > Reconfigure this service > Monitoring > "When a potential problem is first detected" (picture below).
As you can see on this example settings (picture), once a problem is "detected", Nagios will checks again every '1' minute for "5" times (totaling 5 minutes) before sending the notification.
You can adjust your setting here to "10" minutes.
Hope this helps!!
Vinh
