What is the secret here? I would think I could check the box on the left next to multiple objects and change the alert settings for more than one host at a time. Any insight into how to accomplish this?

Hi,
The way to make changes to multiple objects at one time is to use the Bulk Mods Tool (an enterprise feature). This is available at Configure > CCM > Tools > Bulk Modifications Tool
We have a short video on how to use this feature in XI.
