Windows OS License Aktive?

Post by Komotama »

Hello, I have a problem with my test environment. The test environment is a server with a Windows Server 2019 license. I’ve been ordered to introduce a Windows license monitoring. For this I use NagiosXI. The service i am looking for should show whether a Windows license is activated on a host. I would welcome ideas for implementation.

Hi @Komotama,

Welcome to the Nagios Customer Forum! We hope you enjoying your trial of Nagios XI.

I did some research on this question as I have not come across this request before, but it looks you can get this data either using PowerShell or WMI. In both cases, there are extra steps to get this set up as I did not find a community plugin for this check on the Nagios Exchange.

A few links to get your started,

Monitor activation

Need Script to find server activation status

Let me your preferred approach, using a PowerShell script or WMI and I can provide some guidance on how configuring this in Nagios XI.

Best Regards,
Benjamin
