I just want to share my experience of the upgrade, when I ran the upgrade script it ran successfully however after logging back on the system it showed monitoring engine not running , and was not showing any stats. I check the status of all the services and nagios was running weird! So went the classic IT fix way and rebooted the box, after the reboot still got the same situtation and started looking at the logs to gather and see whats going on, by this time around 20 minutes later all of a sudden i noticed our NOC screen sprang back to life and slowly started to see event queue start up and active checks started working. Went into one of the monitored host to see if everything was good alas! got a message check was pending and I was not authorised to look into the advanced tab. Again went log hunting and while I was at it I noticed all previous events from the event log has vanished ! So I thought I would wait and watch and eventually after another 25 to 35 minutes everything started working and I was able to use everything.
So point is be patient!
