Hello -
I have been reviewing and utilizing NXI for a few weeks now and running into a snag when attempting to deliver notifications to distribution groups in Office 365. I can, however, send notifications to a single contact source to be clear. Is there something i need to setup and/or configure inorder to send to DL groups in Office 365?

Hi,
My apologies but can provide more details on NXI? I'm not familiar with this application. Notifications in Nagios XI work off email, you can create contacts or groups of contacts to be notified.

NXI just abbreviated to Nagios XI, apologies on that. I'm aware that the notifications work off email deliveries but seems when I only use my own SMTP address, it works, but when we attempt to try a DL, it doesn't work. We do use Barracuda as our message hygiene solution on the front end of Exchange Online, but figured since I was able to receive emails directly to my own SMTP address, the DL and/or shared mailbox should work. Barracuda doesnt block these messages when attempting to test so I'm unsure on what the issue is.

A few things to check. For the email settings to work, are you using the same account for the SMTP server at Admin > System Config > Email Settings, and can you send a test message from that page?
Have you created a notification contact for the DL? This will be done in the Core Config Manager.
Let's enable logging on phpmailer. This can be done in the email settings, Admin > System Config > Email Settings.
Then follow the steps to turn on the following page to enable debugging for phpmailer.
PHPMailer - Troubleshooting Using Debug Logging
Now send a custom notification from a host by going to Home > Details > Host Status..find a host that has the DL as a notification contact and click on the Advanced Tab and select Send custom notifcaiton.
After that please PM the nagios.log, the phpmailer log, and any screenshots from phpmailer debugging output.
