vSphere Perl SDK
vSphere Perl SDK
Hello, I was looking into using the VMWare Configuration Wizard to monitor some ESXI hosts. As I was walking through the documentation when I went to VMware's website it looks like they are going to be deprecating the vSphere SDK for Perl in the 7.0 U2 release and then it will be discontinued after that. We will be making the move to VMWare 7 in the near future and I didn't want to go down this road of configuring this stuff if it will just break shortly after we update. Is there a path forward after I install this stuff or will you just drop the support or will there be another path to monitoring VMWare?

Re: vSphere Perl SDK
Hi @rpearson,
We do not have plans to drop support for a Vmware Configuration Wizard in Nagios XI, but we'll likely be migrating this to the newer python SDK. Since this is a breaking change, it will likely be a new wizard that can be installed alongside the current one. However, I don't have an exact time frame for that right now.
Let me know if you have more questions or comments.
Regards,
Benjamin
