License restrictions on temporary cluster nodes?

Post by zbarnett »

Does the Nagios LS license allow for nodes to be added to a cluster, temporarily exceeding the licensed number of nodes, for the purpose of swapping out servers within the cluster?

For example, in a licensed four node cluster, is it permitted to add a fifth node to the cluster, wait for the cluster to go back to "green" status, and then remove one of the original nodes, thereby bringing the total number of nodes back to four?

If this is allowed, is there a hard limit on how long number of nodes may exceed the licensed number? What sort of grace period exists on that?
