On-Premise to Cloud Migration

Post by kalyanpabolu »

Hi Team,

We are planning to migrate the Nagios XI server which is On-Premise to Cloud (Azure/OCI).
Is it possible to do this migration and use same license in cloud that we are currently using in On-Premise Nagios XI server?

Please suggest.

Hi,
How are you doing?
I'm not familiar with Azure, so let me answer your question using AWS as an example.

Yes, it is possible to use a cloud provider like AWS EC2 (or Azure) to run your Nagios XI instance.
You must setup a static IP (an Elastic IP address) and maybe an IAM role and VPC network for better security.

However, I don't think you can containerize your Nagios XI into multiple running instances (nodes) like Dockers.

I'm sure you can use the same license in cloud that you are using today.

Please contact [email protected] when you are ready to move your license into cloud.

Best Regards,
Vinh
