We are experiencing an issue where users are unable to certain view hosts and their related services despite having permissions to view those hosts. The users are able to some of the hosts that they have been given access to, but not all. As an admin I can see all of the hosts and services just fine. The configuration of monitoring on the hosts is also the same between them.

Thanks for reaching out and would like to take a look at your Nagios XI System Profile so we can see what is going on. Sounds like you are assigning user(s) as a 'Contact' so that they are able to view certain hosts/services.

- Login to the Nagios XI GUI using a web browser.
- Click the "Admin" > "System Profile" Menu
- Click the "Download Profile" button

Thanks for following up and providing the System Profile.
After reviewing would like clarity on usage. If I understand correctly you have user's that are logging in to the web console to view hosts and services? Is that correct?
When I brought in the database I only see the one user listed, I do see a list of contacts.

When looking at the core config I see 511 Users for the server. It should be users not contacts. I may have had a filter on at the time which would have shown only one User. Which would have been an impacted User.

We see that your Nagios XI is integrated with your LDAP, and that is why we were unable to see any Users listed in the profile database that was sent over.
Please provide a couple of Users/usernames that are unable to view a host and/or service and which host/service that they are unable to view. A screenshot on the Admin > Manage Users > Security Settings would be helpful as well.

Thanks for following up and sending along the username. We are not able to determine what hosts/services he is not able to view as the contact does not appear to be assigned.
Please let us know what hosts the user is unable to view and provide the screenshot on the:

The issue resolved itself and user can now see the correct servers. No changes were made on our end. If we encounter this issue again we will open a new thread. This one can be closed
