Is there a recommended method for offloading the Nagios database to an HA pair of MariaDB servers?
Has anyone done this?

I'm looking at the MariaDB Replication and Galera products.
Has anyone done this?

Re: Offload Nagios DB to MariaDB HA server pair
Hi Tom,
I haven't run across that set up to date and looked through the case history and not much there. If you're looking for a supported, high availability setup for Nagios XI, the LinBIt solution would be the recommended approach.

Re: Offload Nagios DB to MariaDB HA server pair
Benjamin,
Correct me if necessary.
I understand that the Linbit solution would make the HA pair at the Linux level.
I'm trying to off load the MariaDB to another server and make that server an HA pair.
Would the Linbit solution improve the way the MariaDB is working?
thx
Tom

Re: Offload Nagios DB to MariaDB HA server pair
Hi Tom,
That's correct. The LinBit HA solution for Nagios XI, and may or may not improve MariaDB performance. Currently, Nagios XI does not have a HA feature, so this the best option for a commercially support HA solution.
Regarding, setting up a MySQL HA server pair, we do not have any official documentation on the process and I did not come across much case history on it for reference. I can put in a feature request for this type of deployment for XI, it's currently not on the product roadmap. Let me know.
