Installing a new client

Am I correct in understanding that it is not recommended to install NAgios client into an already existing environment? That seems a difficult challenge and something that should be made more clear.

What is the preferred/recommended approach to monitoring a pre-existing system?

Hi,

Sorry for the confusion. That article is referring to the installation of Nagios XI server.
The idea being that Nagios XI is running on a dedicated server.

As you surmised, adding a Nagios client to an existing environment is definitely supported.
