Applying a patch to NagiosXI

I have a patch file for BUG 0000338. How do I apply this patch to NagiosXI (this bug is causing chaos in our environment and the on-call dude is about to choke me to death)

The patch file is nagios-3.4.1-downfix-6.patch

My current version is 2011R3.1

We're actually going to be applying a patch for this for the 3.2 release which should post either today or tomorrow. So once this new version is available just run the upgrade script and it will apply the downtime patch for Core. We used the fix that is currently in the Nagios Core SVN trunk.
