Alert only when multiple services fail
Alert only when multiple services fail
We run 4 separate tunnels over a provider WAN on a Cisco router. When the provider link fails, the interface does not necessarily go down but all 4 tunnels will fail. I would like to know if there is a way to alert ONLY if all 4 services (tunnels) fail. I am trying to avoid multiple alerts for the same issue which is causing some alarm fatigue for the monitoring staff.
Re: Alert only when multiple services fail
Hello @dflick
Thanks for reaching out, I understand that you want to get alerts when all 4 services are wonky.
Ran a check using the Business Process Intelligence (BPI), for this example I set up four hosts checking the same service (on all 4 hosts). For my test, I set the threshold to 25 percent. Meaning that it would alert me if below the 25 percent threshold of all four services checked. Each service is one of four.
Please see the support article on Business Process Intelligence (BPI) for more details. Thanks,
Perry
