Monitoring Way Too Many Services

Post by omarrrthepirate »

Hello folks. When I bulk added all my Cisco switches and routers, I did not mean to monitor all their ports, which each count as a service. So now we have around 300 hosts and over 14,000 services. My boss only wanted me to monitor all the ports on a few key switches and routers; not all of them. Is there a bulk way to remove ports from the switches you select? Or do I need to delete all these devices and re-import them without monitoring all their ports? Thank you kindly.

Hi,
Did you use "hostgroup" or "servicegroup" for this?

If not, you will have to either manually delete each service .... or delete them all and re-do it using a hostgroup or servicegroup Inheritance.
