I have been searching but really can't seem to get the search down to what I am looking for here.

Current system
CentOS 6.10 (started with Nagios VMware image)
Nagios XI 5.7.5

New system
RHEL 8
Upgrade Nagios XI to latest

What I want is advice to this migration. My plan
Deploy new RHEL 8 system
Install latest version of Nagios XI
Run restore from backup old system
Test
Clone to new system which will over the IP address off the original Nagios XI system.

Where is the flaw in my plan?

Thanks
Mitch

Hello @GhostRider2110

Thanks for reaching out and sending along your plan. You will also want to make sure that you use the same hostname and IP address on the new. You will also want to make sure that both servers are running on the same Nagios XI/Core versions. The option to run the upgrade once you have completed the migration too.

Here is a support article that provides the layout as well:

Thanks,
Perry
