Nagios combine 2 checks

Hello

we have a router with 2 VPN connections. 1 active and one stby.
We currently check both VPN peers with check_asa_l2vpn.pl and as only one is active at a time we get alerts for the other that is down.

Is there a way for these checks to be combined and Nagios to think that all is ok if 1 of those is up and alert us if both are down?

The Business Process Intelligence Component was designed for these types of use cases. You can create groupings of checks and set thresholds on the health of the groupings (based on weighted average).

To be noticed you will have to run the BPI Configuration Wizard after setting up the BPI groups. It's all documented in the guide below.
