unable to receive sms and email alerts

Hi,

I encounter issue for not receiving alerts via email and sms from our nagiosxi monitoring despite settings are in placed, im not sure if it's due to proxy or firewall, when i test the notification alerts, no errorbut not receiving alerts, our company is behind proxy, can someone enlighten pls.
