Nagios causing Windows error

Post by omarrrthepirate »

Hello, I hope you are all doing well.

Nagios is causing the following error on one of our Windows servers: "The server-side authentication level policy does not allow the user ADMIN\chief SID (S-1-5-21-82125038-1982466494-1108620047-500) from address 10.21.40.167 to activate DCOM server. Please raise the activation authentication level at least to RPC_C_AUTHN_LEVEL_PKT_INTEGRITY in client application."

I have currently disabled monitoring but we're still getting the error. 10.21.40.167 is the address of our Nagios server.

Hi Omar,

Microsoft is making changes to the DCOM model and our product team is working on the problem. You can find a thread with some discussion of the issue, with a possible temporary workaround here:

Hope this is useful.

Thanks and Best Regards,
Keith
