Post by lntinfo »

Hi,

I have Nagios Uptime inbuilt generated reports pertaining to windows & linux servers.

some of the servers i have rebooted & few got rebooted automatically. but still when i fetched uptime report for all hosts,
availability for hosts showing 100 % which is not true.

how can i get accurate Uptime reports.

If you go to any of the uptime services it should give an output of the amount of time the server has been up.

What version of XI are you running?

What filters did you specify when running the Availability report in XI?

I believe this was fixed in 2011R3.2

There were at least 2 fixes in Availability reports that I can think of off the top of my head that happened in 3.0 and 3.2.

before upgrading, can you please let me know, did you try pulling availability report from new nagios version.
if i will get confirmation so i could move ahead & perfrom the necessary task.

because upgrading involve change approval. & i dont want to move untill i am sure on this.

You can upgrade to 2012R3.2 - this should fix the availability reports.
I just tested it again (just in case :D ). I am running Nagios XI 2011R3.2. I pulled the availability report for a host for the last 24 hours and the host availability was 100%. Rebooted the host, and pulled the report again - it changed to 99.943% (same as the legacy availability report).

Hope this helps.
