AIX 7.1/5.3 behind a firewall

Post by red »

I am new to Nagiosxi and I am wondering what the best approach to monitoring several AIX hosts (7.1 and 5.3) running behind a firewall and what options there are for doing this. The hosts can only "push" connections out and the firewall does not allow any connections in.

So I would be interested in the agent pushing info and also a heartbeat that would alert the remote Nagiosxi that it was not getting updates or was not receiving the heartbeat. I searched and nothing immediately came back.

Suggestions appreciated.

It is still in beta, but I think NRDS is what you are looking for.
